Winden Rowe came into her BYP role several years ago after sitting next to Griffin in a flight out to Denver. Winden has a passion for several things - one, traumatic stress and the field of mental health, two, talking to complete strangers pretty much anywhere she goes, and three, globetrotting. So the concoction of all three and poor Griffin being an innocent passerby somehow quickly became Build Your Practice.
But in all seriousness, this is all actually true. In her decade long role of being a trauma therapist, a group practice owner, and someone who is deeply connected to population health and the nervous system, Winden became aware very quickly at just how (to quote her) devastatingly broken the field is, and despite endless rhetoric surrounding burnout prevention and self-care, provider health and provider dignity seems to continue to come last; along with provider pay. Although Winden knows that BYP is not the endgame in what the field needs when it comes to systems' change, this is a fantastic solution for providers who want to get out of survival mode and instead thrive in the field we all come to with so much hope and passion.
When she isn't working, she is (as noted above) globetrotting, or spending time with her most favorite animals, and sometimes people.
Amy is a veteran of running operations for organizations. She spent ten years working in chiropractic healthcare, where she managed the admin and logistics of patients and staff. BYPs cofounder Winden recognized her organizational talents and recruited her into an administrative role for Winden’s group practice and eventually brought her into BYP. Amy is now our Head of Systems and is the problem solver and process wizard that every business needs. She’s a crossfitting yogi, spreadsheet fanatic, and dog mom. She lives outside Philadelphia in the same countryside town she grew up in, in the house next door actually (how weird is that)!
Reed has a special angle on the BYP experience because as he likes to say, he is the byproduct of a thriving practice. Family legacy at work here, Winden and Griffin brought Reed on after he expressed a desire to get involved in the company. He has a drive for connecting with others, and loves meeting new people.
Reed is Winden’s son and grew up watching her go from full-time struggle bus to family vacations in the Caribbean. He knows what it’s like to go from barely making it to totally killing it in the best way possible of course. No more survival mode is his mission for all BYP participants. He knows what it’s like and wants to help the field change for all the kids that go through what he had to experience
